I didn't time it but it does take some time.
I think I killed it after about 5 minutes of constant thrashing.
Maybe you should just leave it and see how long it takes.
Possibly it's something to do with using the FC2 kernel instead of a stock one ?
I don't know much about the FC2 kernel, maybe you should try with the real thing www.kernel.org
