+winsock,+sync please. Another wild guess: maybe some out game update or something was recently rolled out?
I've not changed my hosts file sine forever and my games files have been at the latest version since it was released 1.21 i think neither of these things have changed from when it used to work and now.

I'll atepmt a debug session sometime but I only have issues with network games so it'll be the next time I'm at my friends. Possibly at the weekend.

Please fix your hosts file while your at it. It might not be this specific issue, but it's going to cause other problems for certain.
