Shouldnt we have an error essage saying that the user's wine is configured to use wineoss.drv but linux is configured to use winealsa.drv? It would be similar to the error about not being able to find the floppy that people always seem to have in their config even tho they dont have it in their fstab..
I'll assume you mean, if Linux is configured to use ALSA.
I think that can only be a bug in the Wine OSS driver. Remember ALSA is backwards compatible with OSS, so changing which driver you use shouldn't be a configuration problem.
I would query exactly what the "minor flags" were also.
