This should fix the Fallout: New Vegas audio looping bug and probably some other games that use mp3 soundtracks.
BTW, is it a good idea to submit such workarounds, or is it better to leave it broken until a proper fix is found? Another alternative would be to simply revert commit d7fecebe93938bf1ef2349ac74413e28d6b8e153.
I don't hate the below workaround (especially since we had something similar for a long time), but on the other hand, it would be nice not to have it, and just fix GStreamer instead. I only know of the one game so far, though as you say it's easily possible for others to be affected.
That's a rather noncommittal answer; I think if left to my own devices I would avoid adding the workaround.
