That's true. However, I was referring to programs that use the rich edit in non-essential places (like the ControlSpy).
I don't know what we currently do for rich edit, but what about just dropping all formatting information, and so we display just plain text? This would at least get us to a pseudo-usable state with apps like XNews, and what have you.
Yes, it should be enuff to change the compatibility status of this applications :)
