That's EXACTLY the problem - if it's compliant to MSDN letter for letter, then you can bet your whole household that it is even more BOUND to be wrong somewhere, given our comprehensive previous experience with MSDN correctness ;-) I just had to mention this.
Anyway, just wanted to point this out, I don't want to shatter your confidence.
Simply locate e.g. some DX sample code on the internet which uses that function, modify it to call it with a "1" parameter and observe Windows behaviour.
