I'm not familiar with relevant code, but it seems to me that ideally wrc 
would support \r in this case. I'd hope that it's a matter of some kind 
of escaping handling. I don't mean to block your patch on this if it's 
too much work, but I think it would be good to at least consider fixing 
wrc instead.
