An obvious and already mentioned solution to that bug is to run application with reported Windows version set to win9x, there is no point IMHO to try make it run under NT, it's an application bug that prevents it, and resolution in that case is WONTFIX/INVALID.
There is no need to invent new keywords for broken behaviour.
