The intro movie to Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri still has sound that comes and goes though. A have a trace +wave available on http://www.lysator.liu.se/~johane/terran.txt. I hope it's sufficient.
it uses the dsound interface, not the plain waveOut interface this will need to be looked upon separately A+
