I took a stab at this a few months ago, then Steven Edwards posted a
patch that supposedly fixes it:
 http://www.winehq.com/hypermail/wine-devel/2004/05/0476.html

I never got a chance to try it out, but if it works it's probably
worth forwarding to wine-patches.
