The config file is meant to go ASAP, so that is a good thing.
Most users use RPMs and are quite happy with them, and it causes less support
hassle.

Then as other have said wineinstall should just contain
./configure && make && su -c 'make install'

Sounds good to me as long as the end result is the
same. :)
