RSTs from winehq.org

Anyone else getting lots of TCP resets from winehq.org since the
maintenance?  I don't see this at work - or, my connection there is too
fast connection for them to appear - but at home, I have to have a great
deal of patience to browse the site, as it takes repeated reloads to get a
successful page load.

Just curious if anyone else is similarly bedeviled.

I was experiencing this starting around noon on Friday.  I havent had
a chance to check since Friday at 6pm but it was still happening then.

I should add that I am on a 10gig backbone at work and I was seeing
the issue back then as well..

WineHQ is very overloaded. Spam connections are just out of control
these days. There are times when the spam floods are so high that other
connections are simply dropped. Not to mention that I feel the mobo on
this system is close to last gasps of life.

I have RBLs in place at the SMTP connection level, but the problem is
the connection still happens. At least the connection is quickly dropped
if the IP fails the RBL check. I am considering adding a monster
IPtables script that blocks known spammers, but I worry about the
performance ramifications of that as well.

I will be replacing the mobo on that server soon. It could be as soon as
today. At the same time I will adding double the RAM.

Could you belabor this some more?  I'm not sure I understand what you mean
by TCP resets.  Your web browser gives you a disconnect message?
Any particular part of the web site?

Also, has it happened since 5:45 CDT today?  That's when a new motherboard
with some extra ram went into place, running a shiny new kernel.

Sure.  Not typically - the page loads tend to hang partway.  I do
occasionally get a disconnect message, but it's timing dependent.  A
tcpdump capture showed that winehq.org was sending TCP packets with the
RST flag set.  Sometimes a server will send RSTs in response to very high
load.

To add to that, I was experiencing (prior to the mobo replacement) an
issue where I would have page loaded in bugzilla, click on a link, and
then I would get a blank page (nothing but white).  If I refreshed it
would show the same thing.  Eventually a refresh would get me a full
usable page, but then if I tried to submit a form, it would do the
same thing.  It got much better yesterday prior to the mobo
replacement, and I will test today and let you know if anything else
comes up.
