Hello! I am Chhavi Gupta, a final year Computer Science Student with an interest in applying for the next round of Outreachy with Wine as some of the ideas have really caught my attention. I am familiar with C and have taken a course in Computer Graphics during my third year in college. Github Profile: https://github.com/chhavip I am interested in the following projects:
- Winetest Graphical User Interface - Winecfg / winemenubuilder - enhance MIME type handling - WineCE: Implement the CommandBar
I am quite new to Windows programming hence any guidance on how to get started will be extremely helpful!
Thank You
Chhavi Gupta

I had a look at your github profile, and it seems you have been working on Android apps for quite some time. If I read it right you have worked on user interfaces as well, which is useful for the projects you have looked at. I do not find anything C related though.

A good starting point is to download and build Wine. For your projects you can look at programs/winetest, programs/winecfg and programs/winemenubuilder (this is where MIME links are currently built). If you have any questions just write to this list, we’re here to help :-) .
Also please be aware of the requirements at https://wiki.winehq.org/Summer_Of_Code https://wiki.winehq.org/Summer_Of_Code . We’re planning to handle Outreachy similarly to gsoc, including the requirement to submit a non-trivial patch before the application deadline.
Best regards, Stefan
