Hello Everyone,
I'm Himadri, an undergraduate student from India pursuing my bachelors in computer engineering. I'm a newbie to the FOSS community and keen to be a part by contributing to some interesting project. And I guess starting the journey with Outreachy would be the best !
Gsoc project : "Tools - Winetest Graphical User Interface" seems quite interesting to me. I would love to be a part of it. It would be really appreciable if I can get some replies about how can I contribute to it.

*Hello Again,*
I think I should introduce myself a little more in order to seek replies form potential members who can guide me to work on the project of my interest.

The application is targeted for android platform and uses bluetooth low energy signals emitted from beacons for context awareness.
*Academia* High school with science courses : Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Some majors during graduation course :
- Linear algebra, Calculus, Discrete Mathematics and Probability - Functional and Object oriented programming [C, C++, JAVA, Python] - Data structures and Algorithms - Operating Systems [Windows and Linux] and System Programming - Theory of Computation and Compiler Design - Digital Logic and Computer organization & architecture - Computer networks and Web Technologies [Javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP] - Software Engineering Fundamentals - Data Mining and Business Intelligence Fundamentals - Database management systems [MySQL, Oracle]

*IRC name* : Himadri I am keen to start working on this project. But as being a newbie, I need some initiative directives. May be making few initial contributions to WINE is the starting point. I'm working on it. I need to learn more about the project. It would be really appreciable if you can suggest me some essential content to refer.
Seeking some interesting and supportive replies,
An enthusiastic learner, Himadri

Hi,
Welcome to the wine community!
To avoid a lot of redundancy in the response to this (as other students have shown interest in this idea as well, and I'm also lazy) I'll redirect you to a response given by one of the mentors to another student https://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-devel/2017-February/116482.html.
Feel free to idle on our IRC channel (the channel is #winehackers) and ask any questions you have about the same. Good luck!
Cheers, Aaryaman

Hi Himardi,
As a first step, have you tried running winetest, on either wine or windows?
We'd like to hear your ideas on how you'd like to improve it. What UI changes would you find helpful, as someone (presumably) unfamiliar with it?
As Aaryaman mentioned, idling on #winehackers and asking questions would be advisable and likely get you faster answers than email ;).
Good luck! And don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions.
