i have itunes 7.60 successfully running on f10 kde 4.2

i have itunes 7.60 successfully running on f10 kde 4.2
but when i plug my ipod touch into the usb port it just shows icon with 
arrow connecting to itunes but nothing happens
even if i press button and on itunes itself the sync menu item is greyed out

any patches i need to apply someplace ?

may i re-imburse you for your time with paypal or western union

I'm trying to put together a different approach to solving this problem, but
I'm currently too busy with real life to work out the remaining kinks.

The first step would be to fix the installer bug, i would like to see
iTunes working without patching Wine! :D

It's not a matter of money, but a lack of implementation in Wine.
Don't think money will make it fix faster, but it can be fixed quite
quickly if someone skilled would look into it, mayba some dev will do
it. :P

I would really like to see iTunes' installer working and being able to
use iPod devices, especially because there are no programs on Linux
that supports the new protocol of Apple!!!!

That's generous of you, but also humorous.  I can't remember the last
estimate we had of how much work it would take, but it's on the order
of tens of thousands of dollars.  That's assuming it's not impossible
to get the ipod touch/iphone driver working in Wine.

I won't comment on the grammar, but why such a big, ugly font? It
doesn't help your case.

You'd probably be better off buying Crossover Office and talking to
their devs about getting better iPod support. Or maybe there's a
*nix-native app that could help you? I hear rhythmbox and amarok have
iPod support.

I dont want to whine, but can this please be fixed? As Linux user it
is very annoying to have to use a virtual machine to be able to upload
music with iTunes! :(

No offence, but "please fix this" is a whine if you're not offering
