I know a good deal about C and C++ and enough about Win32 API (plus there is always MSDN for win32 api stuff) but not that much about linux programming or about the WINE sources themselves. Is there something I can "hack on"?

On www.winehq.com there are some easy project ideas.
Bye
Sure, for the Wine 0.9 release (focusses on ease of use) we need the winecfg utility to work. It's a WineLib graphical setup tool that makes using and configuring Wine very easy.
Unfortunately nobody is really working on it at the moment. It's a pretty good introduction to Wine, and is important for the project :)

I'm afraid it hasn't been submitted yet.
