Pure, fresh install of wine-20031118 from sources on a dual processor Red Hat 9 machine. Installed winzip, used it to unpack OpenOffice1.1.0. Installed OpenOffice1.1.0. Install went fine. Found no 'soffice.exe' of any sort, so ran Winefile and double-clicked on the "Open Text Document.lnk" in c:\windows\OpenOffice1.1.0 directory. Boom! Wine puts me into the debugger:

I just ran ooowriter.exe under my Slackware 9 box with Winehq CVS from two days ago with no major issues. When I first run OO it gave me a ton of warnings about the winedefault.reg so make sure everything is registered properly. Also I think the soffice.exe was a hold over from the upgrade of the OpenOffice 1.0.x install I had. It may register addional componates on first run so if you need a soffice.exe you can download the one from here http://mail.gleneagle.net/sedwards/soffice.exe It reports version 1.0.7 as the build.
Anyway I have had a few crashes in ooomath and other programs but the writter is working fine for me.
Thanks Steven
