Durchkopplung means that even though OLE DB has no hyphen, when there is a hyphen between OLE DB and Anbieter, the spaces inside OLE DB change to hyphens.
But it does not really matter, official orthography never caught on in this regard.

I know ;) In some cases, especially dealing with English terms, it just "feels" wrong.

Do as you wish; Wine would be in good company of various publishers if it sometimes purposefully disregarded official orthography. Even though I do like durchkopplung, some others don’t.
