This rebased version seems to have the same issue. Actually it looks like your mail client is corrupting the patch here.
I'll got back to attachments then. I had set up git imap-send which is supposed to prevent the mail client from messing with it, but apparently not. Oh well. Sorry about that.

No problem. Git shouldn't be the problem, but apparently your mail client is messing them up when you send the drafts. You could check if https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/email-clients.txt contains useful hints how to disable this in your mail client.
