WineHQ.org and all related websites will be offline for maintenance and upgrades on 2016-03-16 starting at 19:00 CDT.
This downtime should last 1-2 hours. Some websites may remain offline longer if they need additional work.
I'll reply to this post when everything looks to be back online.

BTW, I noticed today that people sometimes link to https://winehq.com/ which isn't covered by the certificate and in that case the forwards don't work... Example can be found in: https://distrowatch.com/weekly.php?issue=20160314#reactos
Well they need to stop doing that.
Another wildcard ssl cert would be needed to fix that issue. Seems ridiculous to have to pay hundreds of dollars yearly just for that.

I took a look at this, and it looks like it behaves as I would expect. The link in question (https://winehq.com/), prompts me about the mismatched cert, but accepting the consequences, I am redirected to https://www.winehq.org/.
I tried to hit https://winehq.com/download, and I was properly "forwarded" (I assume this is what you mean) to https://www.winehq.org/download.
Just my $0.02: looks good to me! If the mismatched cert on winehq.com:443 is a concern, wouldn't it make sens to stop hosting on winehq.com:443? That would also help with the third-parties linking issues too (because they will stop working and get fixed where it matters).

Server and all services should be back online. Let me know if you notice any unexpected changes in behavior.

Hiho,
I already tried to contact you via IRC, but since you probably missed it, I will ask again this way. Is it intentional that the RSYNC server, previously used to synchronize WineHQ packages, is no longer present / accessible? It would be nice if you could fix that soon, so that we can continue pushing the latest release.
Regards, Sebastian
I'll look into it, most likely some defaults changed when the system packages updated.
