This newly created file is UTF-8 so you should add the needed pragma (or convert to something else). Compiling this one results in:

Sorry but I've made the same mistake again. I copy-pasted your patch from Thunderbird to a file and that created the UTF-8 version.
So your patches were fine and are committed (AJ removed the 'English language support' line).
