What app? I reverted back to that commit and ran an app with virtual desktop 
enabled that uses a gl child, and it ran as expected (no crash, bad GL 
display).

Duh, I see what app (very observant, am I). I don't know, it works for me.. 
both winecfg, switching through the tabs, and the other app I tested. Are you 
sure you properly recompiled everything? Don't forget to run autoconf and 
autoheader.
