While we are on the subject of dogfooding things, to the best of anyone's knowledge, has anyone ever tried to do something as crazy as oh i dunno, defragging their hard drive (or even one of the virtual partitions) with win98's defragger? What about running win98's gui'based scandisk on either of the above? I'd do it, but my linux machine still needs a new motherboard. Anyone got a test machine they need to reformat?

Oh, Picasa works pretty well, actually. (I did dogfood it earlier.) It's just not the kind of image editor I usually reach for when cropping screenshots etc.
I've also tested photoshop, it's not so happy.
I may try Irfanview, too. Thanks!

Try Irfanview. It's not a full featured editor, but it can do small
jobs.
Kinda like Picasa, but much more user friendly. Of course you could do Picasa, but good luck. Same for Photoshop and Paintshop.

Since those are the *only two gui apps I use* on Linux, I'm running out of things to dogfood! Oh, once in a while I need an image editor. Maybe I'll dogfood windows gimp next (quadruple yuck)...
