Half-Life 2 Regression

Hi,
On July 25 I updated my Wine CVS copy and tried to test HL2. My machine
hard-locked at the loading screen. Two days ago I updated and the
problem still exists. It gives me an error about a swap chain:

fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_GetSwapChain (0x7b946e8) unable to find
swapchain 0

I didn't notice this problem before. Anyone else notice it?

I've had something similar where the machine it's hard locked (but X is). I tried to find out what
had caused the problem but it went away so I assumed it was a random occurrence.

If you managed to upgrade CVS, then why not downgrade CVS until you
know the exact date the regression occurred?

I started to do that and found out the problem was wined3d then I started again recompiling the
whole of wine but my pc takes a while to recompile wine so I didn't get very far. I'll have
another do today.
