You haven’t tried Battle for Wesnoth latest version in Wine on Ubuntu so you have uploaded the about.cfg file to MediaFire which contains over 1000 lines and some un-terminated quoted strings in many names. Check it here (http://www.mediafire.com/?mbw9y2i834z2k7r)! Swear at error message (Quoted string not terminated) whilst you fix the un-terminated quoted strings.

Are you sure this is the right mailing list ? I do not find any "about.cfg" file in wine, please check where that file is comming from. Also check from upstream server and latest release that you can reproduce the issue. There are little chances wesnoth team actually ever uploaded anything to that service, usually such sites feed themselves, so it will help you tell where to direct your report.
A patch is certainly welcomed by the project the file belongs to. Telling people to fix their stuff is just rude and has a lot of chances of getting you ignored.
Lastly, unless you are doing some sort of dogfood session for wine, native Linux version of wesnoth exists (and chances are Ubuntu already packages it).
