My name is Enol and I am member of Softastur association which translates free as freedom software into Asturian.
During these days I was translating Wine into Asturian and I have already completed 1000 of 3699 strings, now I would like to request their merge into Wine's code to review them. Asturian is an only 639-2 ISO language and currently is not an "official" language of Windows, but you can select it from Language settings on that OS (thanks to the work on CLDR) to set only date and time, and ask third-party apps to use it if they have Asturian translations. I hope this is not a problem.

In addition to adding ast.po to the repository, your patch will have to add ast.po to po/Makefile.in.
Also, please change the comment at the top of the PO file to match the comments in the existing Wine PO files, and put your name in gettext's Last-Translator header the same as in Git's Signed-off-by header.
You might have to create dlls/kernel32/nls/ast.nls for your translations to appear in Wine programs. Please compile Wine and double-check that your translation looks correct in practice before sending the patch.

On that note, how should a NLS file for a given language be created? Does the information have to be queried from a Windows installation, or can it be obtained elsewhere?

If I were you, I would copy the Catalan NLS file and only query Windows if you're not sure what a particular value should be for Asturian.

Actually, I was asking because there is no NLS file for Sinhala.
