Maybe it was already your intention, but is it an idea to release Wine 8.0.1 after Ubuntu 23.04 Lunar Lobster is released (April 20)? Then Lunar would also have a Wine-stable version right away.

Nope, that wasn't my intention. Nor is it a good motivation to delay 8.0.1. I'd rather see somebody rebuild 8.0.1 for Ubuntu 23.04.
