[Bug 2659] Shareaza 2.1 Does not start

by Wine Bugs

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2659 ------- Additional Comments From jlh(a)gmx.ch 2005-31-01 12:35 ------- I confirm the problem: Shareaza 2.1 (www.shareaza.com) doesn't work with wine 20050111 anymore; it hangs at the splash screen displaying "Starting GUI". I did a binary search on the cvs as suggested above and isolated the change that causes the problem. At 2005-01-10 15:25:30 GMT+1, the file "dlls/comctl32/header.c" went from revision 1.68 to 1.69 and introduced the problem. (Other files got modified in the minutes before and after, but it's this one that introduces the problem.) From the log: ---------------------------- revision 1.69 date: 2005-01-10 15:25:30 +0100; author: julliard; state: Exp; lines: +34 -20 Evan Deaubl <wine(a)warpedview.com> GetItemA/W on header controls should handle message even if index is invalid. ---------------------------- I didn't try to narrow it down further, as the difference between the two revision isn't large, and I didn't try to investigate further, as I don't have much clue about what this piece of code does. But I hope this helps some developer to solve the problem. Note: I also compiled the cvs HEAD with only the mentioned file put back to revision 1.68, and that worked fine with Shareaza. (Actually, I mean "HEAD" in the context of full-cvs-2005-01-29.tar.gz) jlh -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2680 ------- Additional Comments From willie(a)froq.net 2005-28-01 11:24 ------- I did just try to force xorg to use a 32bit framebuffer ("-fbbpp 32"), so it should truely be the same as Windows' "32bit" setting. But Windows apps still thing we're using 24bits... I tried to find the corresponding code in Wine, to try a quick hack (report framebuffer depth instead of color depth if color depth = 24), but I couldn't find the function. Should be getDeviceCaps(BITSPIXELS)? [Bug 2680] New: Wine should report 32bit color depth instead of 24bit

by Wine Bugs

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2680 Summary: Wine should report 32bit color depth instead of 24bit Product: Wine Version: CVS Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: wine-x11driver AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: willie(a)froq.net Just tried the latest DAZ|Studio beta, should work fine like previous releases did, but now it complains that it will only run at 32bit color depth. If I'm not mistaken, there is no 32bit color depth, only a 32bit framebuffer with 24bit color depth, so Windows' "32bit" setting should be pretty much the same as xorg's "24bit color, 32bit framebuffer" setting. And this seems to become a problem with more and more applications... So, I think Wine should always report 32bit depth to applications if X is set to 24bit. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

[Bug 2679] New: Backspace and cursors do not work

by Wine Bugs

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2679 Summary: Backspace and cursors do not work Product: Wine Version: CVS Platform: PC URL: http://www.winehq.org/appview.php?appid=701 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-user AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: helly(a)gmx.net When using backspace or cursor-keys, nothing happens. This is caused by a faulty implementation of CharPrevExA() in wine's user32-implementation. It always returns the pointer, which is given as ending point, whereas it should return a pointer to the previous letter. This can be resolved by changing the if-clause from if(next > ptr) break; to if(next >= ptr) break; for my version (cvs cedega) this is in line 223 in file lstr.c -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

[Bug 2673] Bad colors in game Heroes Of Might and Magic IV

by Wine Bugs

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2673 ------- Additional Comments From danygradilla(a)hotmail.com 2005-26-01 16:20 ------- I have the same problem with Ultima Online Samurai Empire. It looks fine in 20041019, but in 20041201 and 20050111 the colors are messed up. Fortunately, the problem shows since the game runs, so my log is much shorter. The game plays the proper cinematics at start, but the colors are wrong. After the cinematics are done, the main screen is shown, and the colors are wrong too. I have not tested past that point in the game, and don't have time at the moment, so I will report later today or tomorrow. In 24 bit mode, the colors are a complete mess. In 16 bit mode, it seems like wine is handling the colors as BGR instead of RGB or something like that. I hope you understand what I mean. I attached my log with "WINEDEBUG=+ddraw" Want a screenshot too? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.
