by Wine Bugs

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2368 ------- Additional Comments From clock(a)twibright.com 2005-29-08 04:40 ------- I get the same problem running Lotus Notes under Wine on gentoo Linux. [Bug 3115] Origin: Saving (as Origin) files fails - export works though

by Wine Bugs

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3115 burnus(a)gmx.de changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |agenor(a)gmail.com, | |michal.schulz(a)tu- | |clausthal.de ------- Additional Comments From burnus(a)gmx.de 2005-28-08 16:10 ------- > The same problem with Wine 20050720 compiled with source... Ok I can reproduce the problem: Saving does not work in Origin6/German, installed and run on Wine-2005-07-25 (SUSE build). I seemingly did not check thoroughly enough. :-( It works with the nightly builds of CodeWeavers' CrossOver Office (pre-5.0), which contains a possibly hackish fix for that (other fixes they tend to merge with [GPL] Wine immediately). (Nightlies are not publically available, CXO5 will be sold next month. I'm sure, CW's staff would release their patch/create a fix, if on can pin-point the problem, which will be really hard though.) I have an interesting observation though: If I use Wine 20050725 to run Origin installed by CXO, I can save. This indicates some install-time rather than run-time problems. Before 2005-07-20 I unsuccessfully tried DCOM9x only at run time. Can someone try the following: - Install DCOM98 or DCOM95 - Install Origin 6 - Run Origin 6 If this solves the problem then we know for sure that it is a DCOM/OLE problem. If not, we need to find out more. I'm willing to do some debugging - but only till the end of next week (then I'm away for vacations.) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

[Bug 3261] New: Aire Freshener Behavior

by Wine Bugs

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3261 Summary: Aire Freshener Behavior Product: Wine Version: 20050524 Platform: Other OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-gui AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: neutro511(a)yahoo.com Just installed Fedora Core 4 and was trying out some programs under WINE. I tried one of my favorite programs called Aire Freshener. It does work but it is "stuck" at the side of the screen. The Wine-Systray opens and if the program "minimizes" I can't get it to display again. I can move the Systray anywhere but the program will not reopen. The program is a little odd even under Windows, you click a icon in the tray to get it to open. I'm kinda at a loss of how to better describe what's going on. here is a link to the program http://www.peterhirschberg.com/dl/aire20setup.exe http://www.peterhirschberg.com/mysoftware.html (the page the link is on) I got the 686 version of Wine for Fedora Core 3 here http://www.winehq.com/site/download-rh Please forgive me if there is anything improper about this post, I am a newbie to all this. [Bug 3260] Get Starforce copy protection working perfectly.

by Wine Bugs

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3260 ------- Additional Comments From oliver_stieber(a)yahoo.co.uk 2005-27-08 17:04 ------- "FiringSquad: What advantages does a driver-level copy protection utility offer over other methods of copy protection? Abbie Sommer: The drivers are what prevents the use of kernel debugger utilities such as SoftICE, Cool Debugger, Soft Snoop etc. Also the drivers prevent emulators from spoofing a drive, and thwart burning tools such as Alcohol 120%. StarForce implementation requires no physical modification of the disc, or the equipment that molds the discs, so this method is a clear advantage to publishers because it gives them the flexibility to use just about any plant they wish. This is a limitation of some of our competitors' products, which require not only special hardware, but also expensive software add-ons for test and diagnostic equipment." http://www.firingsquad.com/features/starforce_interview/page2.asp

by Wine Bugs
