Although the native DLLs fix the smoothness, it's more playable with the builtins as the mouse constraint issue doesn't appear. Do you really think CPU speed is causing the issue for you? I had just assumed before that it would be calling Setup as normal. Plus I always run Setup on discs normally in Wine. It does introduce a new problem though - there now seems to be a box in which the mouse can move which is smaller than the window, so you can't completely move around the menu, and you can't look all the way around whilst playing for instance. [Bug 8350] Dragon Naturally Speaking 9 fails to play back test recording

Dan Kegel's instructions, including minimal native stuff, with Wine git 24th June 2007 on an a Debian Etch system, resulted in some sucess: DNS9 came up showing the symbol in the taskbar, the dialog for registering a new user and a minimal dragon bar, which could be made freely movable and comparable to the one in W2k. My suspicion about the partial sucsess is the version of Xorg, Etch uses 7.0 (goody), Feisty 7.2.
