Running Wine in a virtual desktop, and turning off X mouse acceleration both seem to help but don't get rid of the problem completely. When moving the pointer left and right at very low speeds, the mouse goes in the opposite direction it should. Up and down is always correct though. But ingame the graphic has the same corruption so the demo is worth a look. With these demo test results in mind, Ive got the idea to remove the intro movie and it worked!
