The installer suffers from z-order problems (there are about three places where a dialog pops up but is hidden, and you have to figure out to hit enter), but the original roadblock is fixed now. Kubuntu updated Wine to 0.9.42 this morning... I did try Austins suggestion... opened Troopmaster without downloading database from dotnet. Then clicked on the youth members icon to bring up the list of youth and the program closed on me. Troopmaster still hangs while using the new Wine version which forces me to KILL the program. As for trying to get a database from dotnet without using Troopmaster is beyond my knowledge. I do appreciate all the help everyone is putting toward this bug.
