However, WinPCap installs a network filter driver, and that won't work in Wine, nor is it likely ever to be supported. By Cain Abel, do you mean: http://www.oxid.it/cain.html ? Since the interface to WinPCap is nearly identical to libpcap, it should be possible for you to write a replacement WinPCap dll that talks natively to libpcap. Older Wine had problems running Win16 application on noexec protected systems (which is usually enabled only on 64-bit systems) but Wine 0.9.44 should work fine. The crash in comment #4 is in a 32-bit application - so if it is still present with current Wine you should open a different bug report for it.
