The menues seem to be horizontally extended over the whole screenwidth (or much more), probably due to fscked-up calculations resulting from the font problem. The E:\ drive is /dev/cdrom file mounted on my /mnt/cdrom file. I will try again after I have read your recommendations, but this time I compile the wine v 1.1.2 from source on my slackware distro v12.1. Hopefully I get the installer to work.
