If I set the windows environment to windows 98 the unhandled exception does not occur but the no ipixel format error still does. The window displayed by EQ2 is different in both cases. I think the issue is int he way win.c handles windows differently in 98 vs XP. So now there's only left that both program windows don't show any content despite menu and icons when the X session is handled via nx.
