As soon as an ingame resolution with a POT component is selected the black bars disappears and the mirrors work/look like they should. Seems like that the scene image displayed in the mirror is suffering from the same cropping issue. I build the intel HD driver as a module and went through all the motions according to gentoo's alsa-howto. I did wonder if it's machine related too, then again I never had any sound issues before, not in WoW which I played on this machine ever since I got it in december '06 nor in any other way, including sound editing and recording...
