I did it and got the same bug : no map gackground, but I can still view all units and control panel. I had to enable Win95/98 compatibility mode to get a correct display under Win XP. The only difference the CDROM has is that the cut scenes play but I still cant play once a scenario is launched. The map window is black and retains shadows of what was there before but no hex field or units.
