I think primarily I'm concerned about IL-2 Sturmovik being the example app of (USB) joystick input not working in OSX -- I will recheck, but afaik this app doesn't see USB joysticks in linux wine either -- it *does* however see a dsub-15 gameport connected joystick, and works reliably with it. Could someone please mention another app, (*not* one of the IL-2 titles), which isn't seeing USB joystick input in OSX? I have a Saitek ST90 to test against but no idea which apps people are 'whining' about (grand play on words that :) The *reason* I ask for a target app here, is that I've had varying results in OSX and wine with other apps using a Xbox 360 controller and the '360Controller' driver..ie; take 10 driving sim games I have - in linux with the xpad.ko kernel driver, all 10 will see the controller and work fine -- in OSX, the turn out is 4 will work with the xpad, and the other 6 don't see it at all. That makes me think something is a tad awry -anyhow-, and to compound things here, the 'XHD' Xbox 360 controller driver (from sourceforge) isn't seen by wine at all (but OSX *does* recognize and work with the XHD driver). However, it's not a good test case -- the USB HID isn't using the system native OSX driver, which is what I believe we should be looking at for the case of a simple joystick HID, correct? So...feed me something to test... @doh123 - you must have a small list of apps so affected? It could be added at least as compilation option. Even now, when you apply the patch, it compiles only if you have xi2 available, otherwise you get normal wine. I do think it's a good idea for wine-applications running in fullscreen like games to minimize the running program after pressing ALT-TAB. So you can check mails, incoming messages or change the music running in the background quickly and return to the game by pressing ALT-TAB again or by maximizing the minimized program in the panel. Currently a lot of games ignore the key combination ALT-TAB even though it is used in the window manager for switching programs.
