If for some reason you delete the menu item from a tool like alacarte, you're not able to see those item never again. Step to reproduce : 1. Install an application which create a link in the application menu. e.g.: DVDFab6 2. Ensure the link is properly created. 3. Uninstall DVDFab6 4. The menu item is not remove by the uninstall opperation, so use 'alacarte' to remove the item. 5. Reinstall DVDFab6 6. Notice the menu item doesn't appear in the menu or in alacarte. I have been using the ie7 installer downloaded by winetricks to the .winetrickscache directory. `sh winetricks ie7` I just recompiled 1.1.39 sans this patch and ie7 installs without issue. Interestingly the removal of this commit also fixes a regression in Google Talk that crashed the application after launch stopping people being able to use the program at all. When I have time later today I'll write up the crash condition for gTalk as well and attach to this bug.
