Killing the game doesn't fix the screen, so it kind of sounds like a problem with the X server. Having looked at this again, it looks like the problem is, that whereas rotation of the text in Sigmaplot is taken to be counter-clockwise, the font is being rotated clockwise. (My understanding is that in Windows, you draw rotated text by preparing a rotated version of the font.) Message is unreadable - it is localization bug. Error dialog's title says about something wrong with models. Game worked in wine-1.3.18 and before, and doesn't work in 1.3.20 and 1.3.21.
