UseGLSL=enabled made it pretty much unplayable (lots of stuttering, crashing (the game is pretty buggy too, not wines fault)). wine 1.5.16 caused it to crash after clicking "Play" on the launcher unless UseGLSL=enabled, but of course, bad performance. The above patch solves the crashing problem and UseGLSL=enabled seems to perform a little bit better as well.
