Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this bug though. EA 6.5 starts fine here on MacOS with wine-1.5.18-115-g3709fb8. The drawing is slow, but it renders fine and doesn't crash. I navigated through one of the example files for testing. I'll test it on Linux the next time I boot it. The application or some part in Wine doesn't deal correctly with the changed framebuffer depth. Since Enterprise Architect 6.5 was apparently released in 2006, I suspect the latter - by 2006, virtually all GPUs that were still used used a 32 bit framebuffer. I tried to find a EA 6.5 demo, but could not find any.
