On the 2013/03/10 and the 2013/03/15, saving Wiki pages was very very slow. I used winetricks to install directx but it didn't work, I then manually placed that .dll into the game directory next to the executable in ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Oovee/Spin Tires/ and the game threw these errors... [Bug 33316] New: DirectInput fails when GetMessage is not called
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org April 13, 2013

April 13, 2013

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33316 Bug #: 33316 Summary: DirectInput fails when GetMessage is not called Product: Wine Version: 1.5.27 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-dinput AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: xlinuxro(a)yahoo.com Classification: Unclassified Created attachment 44066 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=44066 a patch for wine-1.5.27 IDirectInputDevice2::GetDeviceData fails to return keyboard events if the calling application does not continue pumping its message queue (PeekMessage/GetMessage). That is because IDirectInputDevice2 is implemented using a WH_KEYBOARD_LL hook and that hook is implemented inside of wine's normal event processing. This problem makes Star Wars: X-wing Alliance unplayable because the user must press the "space" key before a mission starts and that event is never delivered. Some of the other Star Wars spaceflight games are also affected. They hang in some menus while waiting for input. I recommend adding a call to PeekMessage in GetDeviceData and have attached a patch which does that. X-wing Alliance becomes playable with this patch. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 32722] New: Pathologic: visual glitches when flashlight turned on
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org April 13, 2013

April 13, 2013

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32722 Bug #: 32722 Summary: Pathologic: visual glitches when flashlight turned on Product: Wine Version: 1.5.21 Platform: x86 URL: http://www.fileplanet.com/162269/160000/fileinfo/Patho logic-Demo OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69(a)gmail.com Classification: Unclassified Created attachment 43177 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=43177 terminal output After a long pause (that was bug #28743) the game Pathologic is working again, with a minor graphical glitch though. When the player turns on the flashlight in the game, strange yellowish artefacts are flashing across the screen. Those artefacts don't always appear however: if the player is inside a house and the flashlight is turned on, the lights are okay. When the player is standing outdoors those flashing artefacts are usually present. It looks as if this depends on what textures/objects are nearby. Unchecking the graphical option 'detail objects' in the configuration tool makes this bug disappear (probably because disabling this option removes many objects as well as textures from the game). The problem can be reproduced with the demo version as well. The demo version contains several saved games (both indoors and outdoors). Steps to reproduce the problem with the demo version: 1. create a new wineprefix and install the demo 2. winetricks wmp9 quartz devenum 3. start the demo with ..bin/Final/Game.exe. On first launch the configuration tool appears, make sure the option 'detail objects' is enabled. 4. press <Esc> to skip videos, in the menu choose <Load game> and select one of the available saved games. 5. when the game is loaded press <f> to turn on the flashlight. Move the mouse to turn around and you should see the visual glitches.
