[Bug 19170] New: Powerpoint viewer's installer doesn't show success message at end of install (appinstall)

Awesome. So I wrote an ahk script for it, since it's one of the few 'Wine Supported Applications'. Ran the test script on windows, but it hangs, since at the end of the install, this message box pops up: Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2003 Setup completed successfully. On wine, of course, we get nothing. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 27293] New: PSO:BB - Cannot type a character name during character creation
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org April 9, 2026

April 9, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27293 Summary: PSO:BB - Cannot type a character name during character creation Product: Wine Version: 1.3.20 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: dev(a)gaminglounge.com Created an attachment (id=34903) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=34903) Wine 1.3.20 terminal ouput of issue when typing To join the server in Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst the user must first register their UserID at the main screen by typing their username and password. (typing at this point works) Once entered the user can either select an existing character or create a new one. When creating a new character - the last step is to give the character a name. At this point typing suddenly stops working - no text appears and the console is filled with this line with every keypress: fixme:imm:ImmGetDescriptionW (0x4090409, 0xad9460, 255): semi stub This is problem - if only for the fact that once started you can't really exit out of the character creation process without forceably terminating the application. We really need to be able to type the name to exit this point in the game. If new users can't create a character they won't be able to help in troubleshooting bug (#12964) which is needed to get in-game. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 27641] New: an editor should use the indic font when indic typing is being done

It is better than empty boxes. :) likewise, some indic language fonts only have part of latin characters like numbers and symbols but not ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ characters, wine should try to use default font for latin if there are not glyphs avaialble for a language. When opening a menu of the developer studio, the menu items with arrows (that open submenus) are not displayed correctly. The triangular arrows on the right end will stick out of the menu popdown area. I'm not sure if they just stick out to the end of the "shadow" (3d effect) around the popdown, or sometimes more. [Bug 29937] New: File selection dialog view shows Favorites when you click elsewhere
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org April 5, 2026

April 5, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29937 Bug #: 29937 Summary: File selection dialog view shows Favorites when you click elsewhere Product: Wine Version: 1.4-rc1 Platform: x86-64 URL: http://www.winuae.net/files/InstallWinUAE2330.exe OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: markk(a)clara.co.uk Classification: Unclassified There is a small issue with file selection dialogs which some programs use. When the dialog opens, it shows the files in some directory in the right pane, and a tree view of the directory hierarchy in the left pane. The tree view shows Favorites and Desktop (which is expanded to show My Computer, My Documents, Trash, /). If you then click on any of the + or - symbols in the tree view, the view in the right pane jumps to Favorites. For example, click the + next to My Computer and the view on the right changes to Favorites (which may be empty). The directory shown in the right pane should probably not change when the user clicks a + or - symbol in the left pane. WinUAE is one program which uses that type of file dialog. To show the problem, download and run the WinUAE installer, check the box to run the program at the end. When the WinUAE Properties window appears, click "Select image file" to open a file selection dialog. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 26389] New: Win3.1 Notepad crashes when opening a large file
by wine-bugs＠winehq.org April 3, 2026

April 3, 2026

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26389 Summary: Win3.1 Notepad crashes when opening a large file Product: Wine Version: 1.2.2 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: spammis(a)spam.la Created an attachment (id=33605) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=33605) DOSBox (left) and Wine (right) This bug applies to the version of Notepad bundled with Windows 3.1. Old versions of Notepad can't open big text files. Instead, Notepad displays a message saying "The file FILENAME is too large for Notepad. Use another editor to edit the file." Wine crashes instead of displaying this message. A giant file can be created in numerous ways. I used a small python script: for i in range(1999999): print i "python script.py > giant.txt" gives a giant file. I tried opening the file using Wine running Notepad and using DOSBox running Windows 3.1 running Notepad. Windows 3.1 is just a normal DOS application, so it runs fine under DOSBox. I'm attaching a PNG file displaying the differences between Wine and DOSBox. In this case, DOSBox is correct while Wine is wrong. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
