I set up the following launcher: wine '/home/user/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Tracker Software/PDF Viewer/PDFXCview.exe' 'c:/PDFXWarning.pdf' ... to always load a dummy PDF at startup. If I closed that auto-loaded PDF then opened the PDF I wanted to work on, no crashes -- in line with Frank's comment. I could work on and repeatedly save the subsequently loaded PDF without issue. IMPORTANT: Do not work on more than one document at a time. From my testing with multiple PDFs open at once, hitting the save button saves ALL open documents/tabs -- NOT just the "active tab". I would not be surprised if it's that save bug causing the central issue. So, here's my workaround based off Frank's observation in Comment #55: (1) Launch PDFX so that it auto-loads a dummy PDF (2) Immediately after startup, close the auto-loaded PDF (3) Now open one PDF to work on at a time. This patch fixes the issue for me. I still have to test it on more drivers (especially MacOS) to make sure the fix and accompanying test work reliably. The Nvidia clipping bug was fixed at some point, but as described in the patch file we run into a different problem that produces the same symptoms now. As per Anastasius Focht's comments (thanks again for the info you provided), I downloaded an older compatible version of Python MSI for VPython. Do not download the 32-bit Python-2.7.9 as instructed. Instead download python-2.7 using this modified link... https://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.7/python-2.7.msi This has resolved my VIDLE/VPython issue and all appears to be working now.
