I took your advice, and installed Wine Staging version 1.9.17 via OS X package download, but did not select 64 bit option just to try it. Gridcoin seems to be running fine so far. Thank you. I will report anymore issues to you in the future. What is GridcoinResearch? It is computing for humanity running scientific jobs for Boinc projects, where users are rewarded for work done with Grid Coins, a cryptocurrency. The Grid Coin team does not support OSX, because of the Apple dependency issue, so this is good news for OS X users wanting to run GridcoinResearch on an OS X system without the hassle of an emulator hogging resources.
