Like most (all?) games in the RE series, RE5 needs wmp10 installable by winetricks, followed by windowsmedia-kb942423-x86-intl.exe to run. After that, the game launches fine. Installing d3dcompiler_43 d3dx9 and xact_jun2010 as per the appdb page is no longer necessary. There's been quite a lot of progress over the last couple of years. I was able to run the game fine by running ./wine outside the container! Quit it, then try to relaunch from the game directory. If it doesnt start attach the log. I am not familiar with those exports, but just wine game.exe should be enough. $ wine '/mnt/data/wine.hitman3/drive_c/GOG Games/Hitman - Contracts/HitmanContracts.exe' Might not work.
