The nature of this bug has changed but it varies from a hang to a crash to doing nothing and often back again. There seems little point in creating a new bug report every time something's changed as it's not clear if anything is fixed. Given that the original hang-and-has-to-be-killed issue no longer occurs, I'm marking this as fixed. I tried -O1 and -O2 and there is no crash. It looks like the active directory view is refreshed upon a media change.
