"Sound doesn't work in X part of the game" is, unfortunately, the sort of bug that can and does have many different causes. There is initial sound during the Rebellion title video, when the game starts up. But, when the game moves to the main menu, you can't hear anything. We are now going from 2.21(s) to 3.6. Now, I have to think about how to move forward. You have intermediate wine releases which can't run the game at all.
