Thanks for using you time reading my bug report. ClrMAME is an software read files checksum and renaming. The files are zip and 7Z. Have an task "scanner" read all files in an path. That software works correctly in WINE development 7.8. In an new OS Ubuntu 20.04.5 installation was installed the WINE stagging 7.18. The software start, but in the "scanner" task happen an strange behavior begin to use more OS memory in each second at point RAM memory is totally used and after the swap totally too ... resulting in an high not stop disk activity because the OS not have any memory free available. The OS is using Kernel 6.00. When happen that bug error need power off or reset the machine. Only reporting to WINE developers. Need any other information ? Please reply me. Yes it is an injection proxy but whats wrong with that? Windows allows it without any registry hacks so why wouldn't wine? I can understand wine intercepting the load of system libraries from system directories but why would it do it for libraries in the application directory? If so, your argument is at least slightly flawed. I could bring up an old HD patch for Fallout (or was it Fallout 2 ?), that used ddraw.dll as such proxy. That is to say, your argument, if correct, would fit pretty much any Windows system dll (well, any that Windows allows to be proxied).
